Indians Fail to Qualify
Well India lies Second in Worlds highest population and for the last few years we are performing very worse in Olympics and this time it has been even more worse by not even qualifying for Hockey which is the National game of our country. We should feel ashamed for this and there are many many talented guys in our country but still they are implementing with the existing one and getting the same results. In this we have won Asia Cup recently also. Once we were the kings in the Hockey game and later we were getting down slowly and this time we totally got damaged. This should be a lesson to every player. Lets once again force every players for that one medal which will come in any one event. Each one of you guess which event will it be this time. Here you go……..

The problem is cricket. Let us first accept this.
The next step is to stop being obsessed with cricket.
There is another solution: Change cricket to India’s national game. Then we won’t have to worry about hockey.

This 20-20 also created a game impact and everyone was crazy on Cricket and stopped considering Hockey.
@Marc
But we won the Asia cup na? What are you saying for that?

Quote from Wikipedia:
The 2007 Men’s Hockey Asia Cup is the seventh tournament of the Hockey Asia Cup for men. It was held from August 31 to September 9, 2007 in Chennai, India.
India claimed the gold, Korea the silver and Malaysia the bronze.
India defeated Korea in the finals by a thumping 7-2 margin. They led 3-1 at halftime in a match which was ill-tempered at times and where India displayed superior skills and control. Early in the second half, Korea staged a walkout led by their coach for an umpiring decision to disallow a goal scored by Korea. Replays clearly showed that the Korean forward had struck the ball from outside the striking circle. To make matters worse, India scored a goal through a brilliant counter attack in the very next minute with two Korean forwards still arguing with the umpire on the goal that was disallowed.
So you know how they won. Plus the match was played in Chennai. Korea would not have been used to:
1. The 40 degree C weather
2. The poorly maintained hockey court

See now you started supporting our team. From this i can come to a conclusion that Indians are not performing well because the Olympics are not held in our Country. That too in our Chennai

What ever the game may be. We have to train the players properly first by giving them proper practice.
